Family visit June 2015

This year the family made it home in mid-June instead of the usual August holiday at The Lake. Lou stayed in Denver working on kitchen renos in their new home, while Steph and Graham met us in Toronto on June 14th, almost missing their connection to Fredericton (yeah, Air Canada!). Jen, Ben and boys spent a few days in New Hampshire on their way to NB, arriving on June 19th for a week, then continued on to NS to spend time with Ben's parents.
The weather was less than summery-mostly cool and rainy with LOTS of mosquitoes! However, the boys enjoyed the hot tub (with the temperature turned down a few degrees), the play structure in the yard and the toys in the house! Melanie and Eric spent a night with us on their way to Cape Breton for a pre-baby holiday and McKenzie joined us for a few days as well. Here are some highlights:

Jen, Elliott and Henry in NH:

Steph and Graham-it was sunny on this day!

Helping Papa in the garden!

Grandpa Pat with Henry and Graham:

Graham LOVES the tractor! More tractor, please Papa!

And the car swing!

And the sand box!

So does Elliott!

Big boy climbing!

In the wading pool together!

Then the hot tub!

With Steph and Grandma!

Grandma and her boys-not easy to get everyone's attention at the same time!
I needed a picture of all of us for my Mother's Day gift of a frame that says "Grandma and me":

Ben took some darling shots of Graham for our vertical photo frame on our bedroom wall:

The finished product-so many good ones to choose from:

After Steph and Graham left on June 23rd, Aunt Helen came to visit for a few days. Elliott helped her make rolls:

One day we set out for lunch and the afternoon at King's Landing up the Saint John River. Next time we'll bring a picnic to save time and some aggravation in the dining room, but it was a lovely day and Elliott seemed to enjoy running from one house to the next to check things out!

The blacksmith made Elliott a nail in his forge:

Some of "The Cousins", youngsters who come to play the part of children in the 1800's in the village and who spend a whole week there:

Back at The Bluffs, here is Grandpa's garden in late June, by summer's end it was a jungle! The ladder structure kept the tomato plants from falling into the earth.

Some of the bounty:

And a favourite view of the lake post summer storm:

The weather finally improved by August and into September with some really warm and sunny days at long last! Until next time...
