Musée Internationale d'Horlogerie

After a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning, we set out towards the north to the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, well known for its precision watch manufacturing business. We spent several hours in the very interesting museum of watches and clocks:

Dark is falling over Lac Neuchâtel upon our return.

On Sunday, we checked out of our hotel after breakfast and drove cross-country into the Vaudois Alps then around Lac Léman back to Geneva for our late afternoon flight back home. Our first stop was for coffee in the quaint, but very touristy and expensive village of Gruyères, of the cheese fame. Pat on the main street, surrounded by houses dating from the 15th-17th century:

The Château of Gruyères, home to 19 different Counts of Gruyères who controlled the Sarine Valley from the 11th-16th centuries. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1493.

Note the definite lack of snow, even in the mountains at this point in early March. Not a good year for skiers in this part of the country...

Hasta luego...

Location:La Chaux-de-Fonds, near Neuchâtel, Switzerland
